SXSW HYPE: Priestess

Just in case you were wondering, I do plan to rock the fuck out at SXSW and I’m looking for Priestess to bring some thunder.

Priestess is up near the top of my “Bands I Really Want To See” list. I’ve never seen them before and their 2007 release Hello, Master has been in heavy rotation since in came out. It pretty much defines, in my mind, a solid, straight-ahead, rock album. Seriously, we need more of these. Think AC/DC, Iron Maiden or Judas Priest and you’ve pretty much got the idea. Here they are doing “Lay Down”, a great song you might have heard if you’re into Guitar Hero.

The Bottom Line

Priestess plays 12:00 am Thursday, March 18th at Emo’s Annex (600 Red River St) and again at 1:00 am Friday, March 19th (Thursday night) at El Sol y La Luna (600 E 6th St).
